CASA Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Don Evans

CASA Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Don Evans

“I enjoy getting to know the kids and making sure that their needs and wants are being represented.”

Don Evans has been a CASA volunteer since September of 2019 and has been in the banking and insurance industry for 27 years.  For the last ten years, he’s been a Collections Manager for a local bank.  In his spare time, Don enjoys watching Cubs baseball and Valpo University basketball as well as fishing.

Don first decided to volunteer for CASA after seeing an article in the paper saying that there was a need in Porter County for CASA volunteers and he thought that it would be rewarding.

When asked about this favorite part of being a CASA, Don said, “I enjoy getting to know the kids and making sure that their needs and wants are being represented.”  He continues to volunteer because, “I feel like the need continues to grow in Porter County and I want to contribute as much as possible.”

Don encourages others to think about CASA volunteering.  He expressed, “If you are retired or have a few hours a week to volunteer, please consider Porter County CASA!!”

Thank you, Don!

In honor of Rose Butler who was a CASA volunteer, and who further supported the mission of CASA as a staff member supervising and mentoring many of our volunteers, we are featuring one CASA volunteer each month who is making a difference in the lives of children in Porter County.
