CASA Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Korrine Schoettle

If you want to know about dedication, look no further than Korrine Schoettle! Korrine joined the CASA program as a volunteer in November of 2023. She did the thirty-hour training sessions while working full time AND planning a wedding! We’re grateful that she gave so much of her valuable time to become a CASA volunteer.

Korrine decided to join the CASA program because she wanted to do something impactful in the community. She loves talking with and learning about other people’s experiences and journeys through life. She says, “Being a voice for those who need one is something I’m always willing to step up and support.” She also feels that the best part of volunteering with CASA is getting to know people from all walks of life and making a positive impact in some way.

She has learned a lot from being a part of the CASA program. She is learning how to communicate more effectively with children as well as all the parties in the cases she works. She also feels that her communication skills have improved overall.  Korrine also has learned that there are more people in our community who are struggling than anyone realizes. But, she says, “On the other side of the coin, I’ve also learned about just how many resources we have in our community for our community.” Not only is she advocating for children in the courtroom, but she also advocates by giving the families ideas for resources they can use that will help the children as well.

When she isn’t volunteering, Korrine is the marketing coordinator for General Insurance Services. She loves flowers and nature, so you would most likely find her spending time outside in nature or in her garden. She is also the proud owner of three cats, and she says she is fine with being called a crazy cat lady!

We are indebted to Korrine and her steadfast advocacy for children!
