Meet Sarah Arnold: Porter County CASA’s New Program Director
“Being a CASA volunteer allows a community member to truly make a difference in the lives of those who need it most, our children.”
Porter County CASA is excited to announce our new program director, Sarah Arnold! Sarah was sworn in as a CASA volunteer in September 2020, during the height of the pandemic, and participated in the inaugural virtual training via Zoom. She enjoyed her role as a volunteer so much that when a staff position opened up, she applied and became a Volunteer Supervisor in August 2023.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys reading, exercising, cooking, gardening, and mowing her lawn. She loves spending time with her husband and four children: her oldest recently graduated from college, two are currently in college, and her youngest is a senior in high school.
Regarding her new role as director, Sarah is excited for the challenges and learning opportunities it presents. She noted, “I look forward to being involved with all the volunteers, not just those I supervised. I am also so fortunate to work alongside incredibly bright, capable, and caring women, and I look forward to helping each of them dig deeper into their talents.” She is eager to become more involved with the community and spread the word about CASA and the vital work our volunteers do on behalf of our youngest citizens in need.
Sarah is passionate about the CASA mission and believes that “the children of today are the future leaders and adult members of society tomorrow.” She considers it a duty and privilege to aid in and foster their growth and development, particularly for children in her own community. She added, “The children we interact with are typically in difficult situations and are forced to deal with trauma through no fault of their own. Their vulnerability and innocence are huge motivators for me.”
For those interested in helping children, Sarah encourages you to consider becoming a CASA volunteer. She highlights that CASA volunteers are “wonderful, kind, caring, hard-working people from all walks of life and educational backgrounds. Being a CASA volunteer offers these remarkable individuals continuous opportunities to learn, expand their horizons, and selflessly benefit our community. It can be challenging, but it is one of the most rewarding volunteer positions available. Being a CASA volunteer allows a community member to truly make a difference in the lives of those who need it most, our children.”
Thank you, Sarah! We’re excited to see you excel in this new position!
