CASA Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Danielle LensonEmily Hoak
“I have been able to watch [my CASA child] overcome challenges, grow and develop. I am happy to be part of his story.”
Danielle Lenson has been a CASA volunteer for a year. She is a Realtor with Realty Executives out of Valparaiso, IN, and also manages about 150 mobile medical imaging facilities.
Outside of work, she is in the process of renovating her lake house in Lakes of the Four Seasons. She expressed, “Whatever time is left we try to spend on the lake with family!” Danielle also loves to bake and making cakes and cupcakes are her favorite.
When she was asked why she first decided to volunteer, Danielle said, “God calls us to help others in whatever ways that we can. When I found out about the CASA program, I knew that this was a way that I could help.”
Danielle expressed that her favorite part of volunteering is getting to know her CASA child. She said, “I have been able to watch him overcome challenges, grow and develop. I am happy to be part of his story and there is nothing better than knowing he’ll have a happy ending!”
Danielle continues on with her volunteering because “although it may not be seen day to day in our area, there is a real need for people to help out in this way. If I am able to make a difference in the life of a child, even if it’s small, it is worth the time investment.”
Thank you, Danielle!
In honor of Rose Butler who was a CASA volunteer, and who further supported the mission of CASA as a staff member supervising and mentoring many of our volunteers, we are featuring one CASA volunteer each month who is making a difference in the lives of children in Porter County.
